Il Barbiere Di Siviglia

Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia Longborough Opera Festival

Longborough Festival Opera
8 June – 13 July 2025

This summer, I am thrilled to be performing in a new production of Rossini’s beloved comic masterpiece, Il barbiere di Siviglia (The Barber of Seville), at the Longborough Festival Opera.

Often seen as the unofficial prequel to The Marriage of Figaro, this sparkling opera follows the mischievous Figaro as he masterminds a web of disguises and deceptions to bring two young lovers together. Filled with humour, romance, and some of the most unforgettable music in the operatic repertoire, Il barbiere di Siviglia promises an evening of wit, charm, and lively entertainment.

This new production will be conducted by Elaine Kelly, resident conductor of Irish National Opera, and directed by Louise Bakker.
The opera will be sung in Italian, with English surtitles provided.
